The UH-300 (vertical discharge) is an in-room, ultrasonic, mist type humidifier with an output of 7.5 lbs/hr of water vapor (about 0.9 of a gallon). Can be placed on floor, shelf or suspend from a high ceiling.
The UH-301 (side discharge) mounts easily on any wall or shelf, using the included mounting bracket. It should be located as high as possible, but at least two feet from the ceiling. Allow 6 to 8 feet of unobstructed area in front of the humidifier for mist absorption.
The UH-303 (duct discharge) mounts on wall or duct using the mounting bracket. The flexible hose on the top of the humidifier is connected to the duct. Operation is smooth and quite, making it ideal for installation in residences, offices, laboratories, computer rooms and many types of commercial or retail applications such as humidors, printing plants and wine cellars.
Priciple of Operation Mist is created by a piezo-electric device which produces an extremely fine, smoke-like fog. The vapor is dispensed by a small internal fan through an opening in the front or top of the unit. This fog travels just a few feet before evaporating into the surrounding atmosphere.
The water connection is a 1/4 inch push-in fitting for plastic tubing (no tools required). A 120 volt line cord plugs into the wall or into a receptacle for on-off humidistat control (see Accessories). A small water filter in the supply line is recommended but not required in most areas. In hard water areas our RO-50 reverse osmosis unit (see Accessories) can be added to remove minerals and prevent any "white dust" from forming.
Inside there is a small float valve and the p/e device which creates the fog by means of ultrasonic vibration of the water. This device must be kept clean. Maintenance consists of periodically emptying the reservoir and cleaning the device with a soft brush. The float valve should be checked and/or replaced every 3 to 5 years. Use white vinegar to remove any mineral accumulation in the reservoir. Drain reservoir and leave dry during seasons that the humidifier is not going to be used.
